It’s that time of year again- the kids are headed back to school!  As parents, the safety of our kids is at the forefront of our minds. Most parents work outside the home and many children come home to an empty house at the end of the school day. Our licensed electricians have some home security tips and electrical recommendations that will give you the peace of mind that your kids are safe- even when you’re away.

Video Doorbells- Know Who’s Knocking Even Before Your Kids Do

Doorbell cameras have recently burst onto the scene and changed the game when it comes to home security.  This device makes it easy to keep an eye on your home, speak with visitors from a remote location, and maintain a clear view of your home for optimal security. It connects to existing doorbell wiring so you never even have to change the batteries!  Additionally, some video doorbells even enable you to get a daily alert whenever the kids arrive home from school!  We have our favorites but to learn more about these devices, you can check out a recent article by PCMag.com on the top-rated models of 2018.  Call Right Electrical Services today to install your video doorbell and increase your home security!

Guess what? We’ll be announcing a giveaway soon as a way to thank our past, present, and future customers which will include three awesome prizes. One of these prizes is…you guessed it… a video doorbell supplied and installed free of charge by Right Electrical Services! Security Lighting

Soon it will start to get darker earlier in the day and your kids may find themselves home alone at night.  An electrician can help you add that extra measure of security by installing security lighting to the exterior of your home. Features such as light fixtures equipped with motion detection sensors can sometimes make all the difference in warding off unwelcome visitors.

There can be many different factors to take into account when considering security lighting installation.  Proper and effective security lighting isn’t always about simply having the brightest lights. Range of illumination as well as placement to reduce the number of dark areas surrounding your home is equally important. Contact our licensed professionals today for a consultation to craft a plan unique to your needs.

Carbon and Smoke Detectors

We all remember the countless fire drills in our school years that highlighted the need to always be prepared for an emergency.  While these drills could sometimes seem monotonous, at Right Electrical Services we believe you can never be too careful- especially when it comes to your family. That’s where making sure your carbon and smoke detectors are properly installed and functioning comes in.

Both of these devices are critical to ensuring the safety of your family. An out-of-date carbon or smoke detector puts your family at risk. With the help of our electricians, you can know that your kids are safe. For more on detector installation, feel free to take a look at two posts we’ve made on the subject:

  1. Awesome tips – few but impactful! If I may also add, secured storage like access doors or panels are a good additional, too (//www.accessdoorsandpanels.com). They could be passageways or storage to important stuff that are not frequently tended to. Nonetheless, thanks for the information!
